However, we shall make an attempt nevertheless. Each beach is wonderful in its own way. That is Nature for you. Man can never beat Nature, how much he advances in life. Nature will always be leagues ahead of him. We present here the top ten beaches in the world. This is in no order of preference.
- Elafonissi Beach, Elafonissi, Greece:
This is an island beach located close to Crete. You can walk to the island over the shallow water when the weather is fine. This island has a historical connection to the Greek war of Independence. This incident happened on April 24, 1824. The Ottoman soldiers slaughtered more than eight hundred Greek women and children taking refuge on the island. They were waiting for a ship to escape. A horse from the enemy side accidently waded through the shallow waters and this led to their discovery. However, you should visit this very beautiful virgin beach in your lifetime.
- Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands, Australia
This is one of the cleanest beaches in the world. The only way to approach this beach is by boat from the mainland of Airlie Beach and Shute Harbor. The beach is famous for its blindingly white sand consisting of 98% pure silica. The sand has a unique quality. It does not retain heat thereby making it easy to walk even under the hot sun. The very fine sand can damage electronic items should it get inside them. You have to be careful about this factor. You cannot take your pet dog with you on this beach.
- Flamenco Beach, Culebra, Puerto Rico:
Flamenco Beach in the Caribbean Isles is famous for its shallow waters, turquoise in color. The beach has soft white sand and is excellent for swimming. There are sport fishing and diving sites too. The Caribbean Islands have many beaches. However, this one is the best among them. You can find two rusting battle tanks on the beach left behind by the US Navy in 1975. This has become an attraction today.
- White Beach, Boracay, Philippines:
You can locate this White Beach on the island of Boracay in the Philippines. The beaches on this island are famous for their pristine white sands, tranquility, and nightlife. Hence, many people prefer to visit these beaches for relaxation. You can go swimming in the pristine blue waters. People go for parasailing in this island.
- Anse Lazio, Praslin Island, Seychelles:
The Anse Lazio beach is located in the Praslin Islands in Seychelles. Seychelles is famous for its exotic beaches in the Indian Ocean. The sea is pristine blue in color. Huge granite boulders form the boundaries of this beach. Usually all beaches in Seychelles have coral reefs for protection against sharks. This beach does not have one. There is always danger of a shark attack. The last one was in 2011.

It has fine-grained white sand. The beach has a gentle slope. It is one of the most popular beaches in Spain. The authorities have permitted nudism in this beach. However, you cannot carry your pets along with you.

This is a beautiful beach along the Caribbean Sea. You can find a gorgeous stretch of white sand amidst the clear waters. This beach is part of a Nature Preserve. Hence, they retain their natural look. The Playa Sirena is a twin beach located nearby. You will not find any hotels on the beach. Tourists can enjoy wind surfing and sailing in the clear blue waters. This is a very shallow beach where you can walk up to hundreds of feet in waist high water.
- Rabbit Beach, Lampedusa, Italy
The Rabbit Beach in Lampedusa has the record of being the most beautiful beach in the world. Lampedusa is the largest of the Italian Pelagie Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It is famous for its cliffs right along the seashore. Surprisingly, you will not find many rabbits here but the place has an overwhelming population of the loggerhead turtles.

Grace Bay is a pristine beach. It has the distinction of being the second most beautiful beach in the world. This beach is the hallmark of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The beach has clear water and white sand. You will not find any rock or seaweed on the beach. There is no pollution at all in this beach. This is a small beach with a length of only about three miles. The sandy bottom of the Grace Bay is not conducive for snorkeling. You have to go to a barrier reef near Grace Bay for snorkeling and diving activities. You can witness many accidents involving powerboats in Grace Bay.
- Baia do Sancho, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil:
This sand beach is one of the best beaches in Brazil. Native vegetation and high cliffs protect this beach making it the best nesting ground for birds. You will find white sand and emerald green water in this beach inviting you for a swim. This is an ideal beach for diving too. If lucky, you can spot dolphins too. In the rainy season, you can see two beautiful cascading waterfalls plunging into the sea from the high cliffs.
